Die Künstlerinnen Vera Lossau und Lilla von Puttkamer recherchierten in Kambodscha, über weibliche Identität, Kochen, Heimat, Erinnerungen und Möglichkeiten der Kommunikation von Geschichten, die mit Rezepten verbunden sind. Im Austausch mit Künstlerinnen und anderen Kulturschaffenden vor Ort wurden im März 2022 während eines Aufenthaltes in Phnom Penh Deutsche und Khmer Kochrezepte und künstlerische Arbeiten für ein „Artist Cookbook“ gesammelt.
Über die Zubereitung von Speisen wurden im Diskurs zwischen den Beteiligten Genderthemen, Rollenmuster und geschichtliche Aspekte der Khmer Kultur verhandelt.

Bong – Bong heißt im umgangssprachlichen Khmer Schwester/ Bruder oder Freundin/ Freund.

Vera Lossau (Düsseldorf) und Lilla von Puttkamer (Berlin) haben bereits in mehreren internationalen Projekten zusammengearbeitet und auch gemeinsame künstlerische Arbeiten entwickelt.

Lilla von Puttkamer setzt ihre Malerei und Zeichnung auch als Installationen in den Raum und erweitert sie durch performative Ansätze in der Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Künstler*innen. Themen ihrer Bilder sind durch Philosophie, Literatur, dem aktuellen Klimawandel bzw. feministische Ansätze und ihren persönlichen Alltag beeinflusst.

Vera Lossau befasst sich mit Phänomenen unseres menschlichen Daseins, die sie mit Ihren Skulpturen, Collagen und Installationen thematisiert und auch hinterfragt. Sie arbeitet mit offenen Erzählungen, indem sie verschiedene Arbeiten kombiniert um einen größeren Interpretationsspielraum zu erzeugen.

The artists Vera Lossau and Lilla von Puttkamer researched in Cambodia about female identity, cooking, home, memories and possibilities of communicating stories connected with recipes. In exchange with local women artists and other cultural practitioners, German and Khmer cooking recipes and artistic works were collected for an "Artist Cookbook" during a residency in Phnom Penh in March 2022.

Through the preparation of food, gender issues, role patterns and historical aspects of Khmer culture were negotiated in the discourse between the participants.

Bong - Bong in colloquial Khmer means sister/brother or friend.

Vera Lossau (Düsseldorf) and Lilla von Puttkamer (Berlin) have already collaborated in several international projects and also developed joint artistic works.

Lilla von Puttkamer places her paintings and drawings in space as installations and expands them through performative approaches in collaboration with other artists. Themes of her paintings are influenced by philosophy, literature, climate change or feminist approaches and her personal everyday life.

Vera Lossau deals with phenomena of our human existence, which she addresses and also questions with her sculptures, collages and installations. She works with open narratives by combining different works to create a wider scope of interpretation.
