Im Gegensatz zum einfachen Atelier, das mit reinen Alleingängen angetrieben wird, besitzt der Projektraum einen Motor. Der gestartete Zweitaktmotor (Betreiberinnen: Carola Rümper und Marnie Müller) geben in dieser ersten Phase des Antriebes den Impuls. In der zweiten Phase startet dann der Verbrennungsmotor (-> Subtrahieren von Ödnis jeglicher Art), ermöglicht durch die Vielzahl der auswärtigen Besucher_innen (nationalen und internationalen), deren Ideen sich in dem synergetischen Austausch von Gedanken zu einem rauschhaften Fest verbreiten. Die Antriebskraft via Kette (klassisch) oder Riemen (modern) wird erweitert durch das Zeitgenössische. Hierbei darf nicht unterschätzt werden - das Wankelmütige, das dazu führt einen multiplen Ausgang zu erreichen. Die Vollautomatik macht das Kuppeln (Interaktion) und Schalten (Kommunikation) nicht überflüssig, sondern erreicht seine höchste Eleganz.
Wie das Atelier hat der klassische Projektraum Pedalen (architektonische Landschaft und Urbanität) , allerdings dienen sie nicht zum Treten, sondern zum Starten des Motors.
Der Projektraum ist ein flexibles Verkehrsmittel. Weitere Vorteile des Projektraumes sind eine entspannte, aufrechte Sitzhaltung, eine gute Federung und ein bequemer Sattel bzw. eine Sitzbank.
Der Projektraum
mp43-projektraum für das periphere wurde 2010 am östlichen Stadtrand im Bezirk Marzahn-Hellersdorf von der Künstlerin und Kuratorin Carola Rümper gegründet. Der Grundgedanke von kultureller Teilhabe in allen Berliner Bezirken ist konzeptionell in der kuratorischen Überlegung verankert. Neben Präsentationen von Ausstellungsprojekten ist das
mp43 Plattform für Perfromances, künstlerische Kurzfilme, partizipatorische, interdisziplinäre Aktionen und Projekte im öffentlichen Raum.
Das Programm eröffnet einen Kommunikationsraum über zeitgenössische Kunst und deren künstlerische Strategien in der speziellen, urbanen Landschaft des Bezirkes Marzahn - Hellersdorf.
Neben dem nationalen und internationalen Netzwerk wird die Zusammenarbeit mit lokalen Initiativen und Trägern seit Jahren praktiziert. Ausstellungen und Projekte loten in der Regel das Spannungsfeld zwischen lokaler und globaler Verständigung aus.
Schwerpunktmäßig präsentieren Künstlerinnen ihre Projekte im
mp43-projektraum für das periphere.
Einzelpräsentationen sind ausschließlich Künstlerinnen vorbehalten. Diese Regelung wurde in den vergangenen drei Jahren in das kuratorische Konzept mit aufgenommen, um die Sichtbarkeit von Künstlerinnen stärker in den Fokus zu rücken.

mp43-project space for the peripheralIn contrast to the basic studio situation, which is exclusively driven by solo efforts, our project space is operated by a two-stroke engine: Carola Rümper and Marnie Müller, who ignite the first phase of the drive. In the second phase both national and international guests come into play to power the combustion engine (catalysing wasteland of all sorts), their synergetic exchange of thoughts and ideas culminating into one ecstatic celebration. The propulsive power via chain reaction (classic) or belt drive (modern) is expanded further by contemporary issues. In this context, the fickleness must not be underestimated, as it triggers multiple outputs. The fully automatic mode does not replace clutching (interaction) and shifting (communication), but enables its effortless elegance. As with a studio, the classic project space has pedals (architectural landscape and urbanity). However, they are not used for locomotion but to start the engine. Our project space is a flexible means of transport which offers a relaxed, upright position, good suspension and a comfortable seat.
mp43-project space for the peripheral was founded by the artist and curator Carola Rümper in 2010. It is located in Marzahn-Hellersdorf on the eastern outskirts of Berlin. Our curatorial program is conceptually founded on the basic idea of cultural participation throughout all Berlin districts. Besides the presentations of exhibition projects, mp43 is a platform for performances, artistic short films, participatory, interdisciplinary actions and projects in public space. The program offers a space for communication about contemporary art and artistic strategies in the specific urban landscape of the district Marzahn-Hellersdorf. In addition to our national and international network we’ve been cooperating with local initiatives and sponsors for years. Exhibitions and projects usually explore the tension between local and global understanding.
mp43-project space for the peripheral focuses on female artists. Solo presentations are reserved exclusively for female artists. This arrangement has been incorporated into the curatorial concept over the past three years in order to increase the visibility of women artists.
